Mindy Glickman

Mindy Glickman is a Jewish connector, educator, innovator, and community builder who has spent a lifetime helping people discover the treasures of Jewish life and each other.

​

Growing up as the only Jewish child in her class in Peekskill, New York, Mindy learned early how to share her Jewish story with curiosity and confidence. As a young adult, she made aliyah, and completed her undergraduate studies in Jewish and Educational Studies. Living in Israel was formative, giving her a deep connection to Hebrew, Israeli culture, and the complexity of Jewish life in Israel and beyond. Today, she continues to explore that relationship with curiosity, including through a growing interest in Arabic and in understanding the many communities and perspectives that make up the region. Those formative years shaped her lifelong belief that Jewish life flourishes through relationships, learning, creativity, and meaningful conversation.

In 2015, Mindy founded Mitzvah Mamas, a grassroots initiative that connected and inspired hundreds of women and families through leadership development, Jewish learning, immersive experiences, and community. Today, the Mitzvah Makers Innovation Hub serves as a creative laboratory where ideas become initiatives, partners find one another, and innovative approaches to Jewish engagement are nurtured.

People often describe Mindy as someone who listens deeply, spots connections others miss, and delights in introducing people who simply need to know one another. She has a knack for seeing possibility where others see obstacles and for creating spaces where people can learn, belong, and lead. Whether she’s teaching Hebrew through Unlocking the Treasure, guiding women through the mikveh experience, mentoring emerging leaders, or dreaming up a new collaborative venture, her passion is helping people uncover the richness of Jewish life.

A self-described serial Rebbetzin, Mindy has shared Jewish life in communities shaped by a spectrum of Jewish traditions. Those experiences have convinced her that while denominations offer valuable perspectives, the deepest Jewish connections are built through hospitality, learning, shared purpose, and genuine relationships. Much of her work has been about building bridges across generations, denominational and political boundaries, and differing experiences of Jewish life, creating opportunities for people to remain in relationship even when they don’t see the world in quite the same way.

Mindy is also a mother and grandmother, and family is at the heart of how she understands Jewish continuity. Raising children and now watching the next generation emerge has given her a front-row seat to the ways Jewish identity is inherited, questioned, reinvented, and made personal. It has reinforced her belief that Jewish life is not something we simply pass down, but something we create together, across generations.

Mindy serves on the Board of Friends of the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies and has held leadership roles in numerous Jewish organizations and civic initiatives. She is a certified Rising Tide Seven Steps Mikveh Guide, a partner in Marty’s Formal Wear, and co-founder of Turn To The Wonderful, a creative venture exploring storytelling, games, media, and conversation as pathways to stronger communities.

Together with her husband, Rabbi Jeffrey Glickman, Mindy continues to imagine and build welcoming spaces where Jewish life is joyful, accessible, intellectually curious, and deeply human. Whether launching a new initiative, traveling to listen and learn, teaching a Hebrew class, or connecting two people over a cup of coffee, she believes that meaningful encounters can lead us toward our next adventure.
